I had the opportunity to drive the Volvo FH 540. The cabin felt spacious and arranged well, which helped during long hauls. The engine performance was solid, maintaining a consistent power output even under heavy loads. Although I noticed that the cabin design could use a touch of modernization.

I've been behind the wheel of the FM 400 for a while now, so I know this truck pretty well. What I like is the pulling power, no question. Even with a full load, especially on the plain roads, it doesn't struggle much. 400 HP is no joke for heavy haulage. Gear shifting is smooth enough but sometimes when I'm loaded to the max, it takes a bit longer to get going. The space inside is surprisingly good, and I can sleep without feeling cramped. The cab layout is alright, but I wish some switches were easier to reach. For long hauls, the fan setup and places to keep food help a lot. Maintenance isn't cheap, those axles and tires cost a lot when you add it all up. Sometimes the ride gets bumpy and loud if the road's not great, but overall, no big issues. Reliability's solid, it doesn't let me down unless something really bad happens.

Took the FH 540 for a few trips recently. Definitely a reliable truck with great handling, even on challenging roads. The fuel consumption seemed average; could be better balanced. But overall, it’s dependable.

Recently tried out the Volvo FH16, particularly intrigued by its impressive D17 engine, delivering up to 780 horsepower. The control via the I-Shift was intuitive, though it took some getting used to during steep inclines. Cab comfort was excellent, both for driving and resting, especially the Globetrotter version. Minor issue: transitioning during low-speed maneuvers required extra attention.

Ran one of these FH16s last month, 700hp, so not the top one, but wow, the new motor yanks hard. I noticed the improved braking too, especially with a full trailer coming down the pass. Gear shifts are smoother than the old 540s, you don't get that hesitation when you kick it up a gear. Nothing bad to say about reliability, Volvos usually hold up, and this one feels just as solid. Didn’t see any big change comfort-wise - seat's decent, bunk is the usual, but you still get a bit rattled after 12 hours. Maintenance costs? Well, parts are never cheap on Volvos, so prepare yourself, but I’d say it’s not worse than before. Biggest plus for me is being able to switch to biofuels, let's see how the new tech holds up with that long term. Might be tricky at first with fuel quality, but I’m willing to try it.

I have been using the Volvo FM for regional hauls for a few months now. Its core design is practical, focusing on functionality rather than luxury. For instance, the low cab makes entering and exiting easier, but the space feels quite limited compared to long-haul models. The 9-liter engine provides adequate power for most tasks. However, additional storage space or features like better heating options would improve comfort significantly.

Good machine, sturdy, reliable, easy to maintain, although a little expensive, it depends on what it is compared with again. You can see that everything is well thought out to ensure comfort, reliability, and durability. Its off-road performance is excellent when loaded, it works in the quarry on any type of terrain. It hauls cargo uphill and downhill, for it, 30 tons is like 5 tons for a Kamaz truck. In 5 years of working with it, I don't remember any serious breakdowns, only minor issues and regular maintenance were done on time. By the way, I can say that the automatic transmission is better than manual, in my opinion.

I've driven the Volvo FH16 on several long hauls, and the power from its 16-liter engine impresses. The 700-hp output paired with the I-Shift transmission feels robust yet smooth. That being said, it took me a while to get accustomed to all the onboard systems. For economics and safety, it's a solid choice.

Recently, I had the chance to drive a Volvo FM. Its handling and control on shorter routes are impressive. Unfortunately, the minimalistic interior design and lack of advanced driver amenities left me feeling like it was a bit outdated. Nevertheless, this model fulfills its intended purpose.

Been driving the updated Volvo FH16 for a few months. The new D17 engine is a monster when it comes to pulling power, especially with the 780 hp version. I really noticed that torque bump, climbing hills fully loaded feels easier now. Fuel savings are decent-beat my old FH on a similar route by a decent margin (probably that 5% extra they talk about). I like that it can run on HVO, though the fuel isn't always easy to find. The cab updates? Pretty comfortable for long hauls. Only gripe, service can get expensive on such a new high-end truck, especially with all the new tech. Not complaining about reliability yet but worried about what repairs might cost down the line.
